• The Expanded Learning Program is an enrichment program that helps support the regular school program and provides a safe option for students after school.
• All staff members who directly supervise pupils must meet the minimum qualifications, hiring requirements, and procedures for an instructional aide in the school district.  A nutritious snack is provided daily to students participating in the program.
• The C.H.A.M.P.S. goals are to increase student achievement, increase school attendance and create a positive safe environment for students.

McFarland CHAMPS Program serves students in 1^st through 6^th grade.  Students participate in homework time and enrichment activities that include the following:

1. Homework assistance

An educational and literacy component in which tutoring or homework assistance is provided in language arts, mathematics, history social sciences, computer training and science.

2. Enrichment Activity

Various activities are provided and included: board games, arts and crafts, computer time, library and others.  Parents and community members are invited to share their talents with students throughout the year.

The program begins promptly after the conclusion of the regular school day until 6:00 p.m. of each regular school day.

How to enroll

1. Pick up a registration form at your student’s school.

2. Fill out the registration form.  Complete one form for each student you want to enroll.
3. Return the completed form to your school site.
4. Wait for notification of your student’s enrollment. 
5. Once a school is filled to capacity, students will be placed on a waiting list and admitted as openings become available.
