Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Overview
The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is McFarland Unified School District’s three-year roadmap for ensuring student success, equity, and school improvement.
What Is the LCAP?
The LCAP is part of California’s funding system known as the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). It requires all school districts to:
-
Set clear goals for student achievement
-
Fund programs that support students’ academic and social needs
-
Measure progress annually and adjust strategies
Focus on Equity
LCAP gives extra resources to support English learners, foster youth, and low-income students—called "unduplicated pupils." These funds help provide:
-
After-school programs
-
Bilingual supports
-
Arts, robotics, and library access
-
Attendance incentives
-
Parent engagement and training
McFarland’s LCAP Priorities
We’re focused on improving:
-
Reading and math performance
-
School attendance and reducing chronic absenteeism
-
School connectedness and student well-being
-
College and career readiness
