The mission of Migrant Education is to ensure that migrant students succeed with basic curriculum and graduate. Our goal is to help students meet California and local standards for student achievement through educational, instructional, and health services.

What makes a child eligible for the migrant education program?

To qualify a child must have moved within the past 36 months across state or school district boundaries either on their own or with a parent or guardian for the purpose of obtaining temporary or seasonal employment in an agricultural or fishing activity. Children are eligible from the age of 3 years until their 22nd birthday if they have not graduated from high school or received a high school equivalence certificate (GED).
