Graduation just around the corner!

Another school year close to an end, with graduation just around the corner our teachers are working hard helping and encouraging all our senior students to finish up with credits and requirements to graduate.  “Thank you teachers for all your support and dedication to our students,” they are working with 46 possible graduate students for this year. For those Seniors who have not passed the CAHSEE exams, they will be administered over the summer one more time (July 26th & 27th) for more information call McFarland High School and ask for Mr. Daniel Diaz

This year the MLC will be celebrating 30 years of Annual Graduation Ceremonies.  This year our graduation will be held on May 31st at 7:00 p.m. at the McFarland High School Football Field we would like to take the opportunity to invite all of you to come out and share this evening with us.

Among the seniors are other students that are also working hard to make a good ending to the 2011 school year in hope that the 2011-2012 school year, will have a great beginning for them and start them off at the regular high school.  Our teachers are also helping these students catch up with missing credits to be able to accomplish this goal for the next school year.

Open House

The McFarland Learning Center will be having Open House on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Food & Drinks will be served.  We would like to invite you to come and check out the programs we offer here at the learning Center.  We would also like to encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to meet with the teachers regarding the academic progress of your child and see if your child will be complete and ready for graduation.

San Joaquin High School

School Starts at 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  With such short hours we would like to encourage all students to get here on time to be able to take advantage of the teaching that is going on in the classrooms.

Last Day for student instruction for San Joaquin High School students will be June 2, 2011.  With just a few more weeks left of school, we would like to encourage the students, not to miss school and to get to class on time.  Take advantage of all the work you can do to earn all credits possible before the school year is over.

Independent School

Independent Study is for students who may have dropped out of school a number of years earlier and now wish to return to school.  M.I.S. allows for the flexible scheduling of student work and school time.  Approximately 15% of the student’s time is spent working directly with the instructor or on instructor related activities.  The remaining 85% of the time is spent working on independent assignments at home, in the field, or on the job.  The student and instructor usually meet once a week though they may meet more or less often.  During these meetings they review the assigned work, evaluate progress, make new assignments and modify contract agreements.

Independent Study is based on a one-to-one relationship between individual staff members and students.

Last day for Adult Registrations for M.I.S. is on April 29, 2011

Last day for Instruction is May 27, 2011
