Dear MUSD Community,
Welcome back to school! As the new school year begins, I have been reflecting on the impact of continuous improvement. In the 1950s, Toyota adopted a strategy called Kaizen, meaning “improvement.” The company made a commitment to small improvements that would add up to significant progress over time.
At MUSD, we don’t build Camrys; we build kids. Every single day, we work with our students to make sure each child has the chance to take one step toward success. We know that long-term success is a result of daily, incremental improvements. We help our students stay motivated and stay in the game, because we know that 80% of winning comes from showing up. Consistency is a key to success. And we are here to help all our students build their skills and abilities, one day at a time. We look forward to another great year supporting our students to achieve great things.
Sincerely,
S. Aaron Resendez
The McFarland Unified School District Board of Trustees made a change to the Board elections by transitioning from at-large elections to trustee area elections. Under this new system, board candidates will only be elected by voters residing within their designated trustee area.
To facilitate this shift, the district took steps to establish election areas that align with population equality and adhere to state laws, the Federal Voting Rights Act, and the U.S. Constitution. To ensure transparency and gather community feedback, a series of public forums were conducted where residents could review and comment on the proposed area maps. Considering community input, the District Board of Trustees elected a trustee area map on December 12, 2023.
